How this activity is presented?

The directress invites the child to sit with her on the mat. She tells him that they are going to be working with the loosely grouped plant classification cards. The directress begins by placing the labelled set of pictures at the top of the mat, discussing each one as she does so. She then asks the child to assist her in matching the unlabelled picture to the picture at the top.

She shows the child how to move the unlabelled picture from left to right until she finds the matching labelled card. When all of the unlabelled pictures have been matched correctly, she repeats in the same with the labels, moving them from left to right until she finds the matching one. The child is encouraged to match the remaining labels in the same manner.
