Phylum (presentation two: focusing on the phylum class)

How is this activity presented?

The directress invites the child to work with her. She begins the activity by reminding him of previous work done on the phyla. The directress tells the child that they are going to be focusing on one phyla. The directress places the ‘primeval cell’ in the centre of the mat and briefly discuss it.

The directress places the heading card for the ‘phyla’ on the mat, as well as the definition card. She discusses the phylum, laying out pictures for the child to see. If need be, she places the sub-headings and pictures in the same manner. When she is finished she helps the child to pack away and thanks him for working with her.
