Carrying a Tray

There will be many times in a Montessori work cycle where the children will be carrying a tray with different Montessori materials on top.

Kids carry trays back and forth throughout the busy day, from the respective shelf to their work stations. Therefore children need to take special care of how they hold and carry their trays.

How to carry a tray in Montessori elementary

Children should be taught to always carry a tray with two hands. The children are taught to use one hand on either side of the tray, walking slowly, and keeping their tray balanced and level.

By carrying a tray, children develop coordination skills, balance, and concentration.
