Why is learning to wash our hands important?

Children will become aware of good hygiene practices and how to wash their hands properly. This activity is done by showing the child how to wash their hands well with soap and water, washing on the top, underneath, in between their fingers, around the thumb, as well as scrubbing their fingernails. Washing hands is correctly is extremely important and should be learned at a young age. Good handwashing practice will also protect us from common contagious viruses, such as coughs and sneezes.
