How to interrupt someone who is working

Sometimes children will need to get the attention of another in class while that person works. Montessori teaches children how to interrupt someone who is working in the right way.

The directress will show the children how to disturb herself or other children correctly. A hand is placed on the shoulder of the person we need to interrupt, waiting patiently for them to finish what they are doing and attend the child. Children will learn to be patient and not call out continuously until they are helped or noticed.
